In normal circumstances both fibers are important for your body but if you have certain digestive disorders such as diarrhea, constipation (difficult boweliness), or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), you must adjust the properties of the fibers with the medical symptoms that are being experienced.

For example, for the symptoms of diarrhea, then you are better to eat foods that contain water soluble fiber, because the nature of this fiber type that attracts water that helps to relieve diarrhea. Meanwhile, if you experience difficult bowel movements, you should eat food sources of insoluble fiber water.
