This study is based on two existing studies to study the correlation between sleep and health.

The first study carried out in 1950 to 1972 and involved 407,000 men. Meanwhile, a second study conducted in 1982 and 2012 with 416,000 men.

In the first study, a total of 1,500 men with prostate cancer during the study period. This figure increased to 8,700 men in the second study.

The researchers then analyzed further to find the main factors that can be correlated with the disease.

Apparently, men under age 65 who slept only three to six hours 55 percent more likely to develop prostate cancer than those who slept for seven hours. However, the correlation was not seen in men over the age of 65 years.

ACS acknowledges that the causal effect between sleep and prostate cancer need to be studied further, but they also added that the research could be evidence of the influence of sleep on prostate cancer.
